Teaching
I am delighted to offer tailored singing lessons from beginner level to Grade 8 +, covering a range of different styles and genres in WIltshire. Singing lessons can help develop confidence, improve memory and enhance ability to express emotions. It can also promote social bonding, develop language skills and is a great way to develop musical skills at an early age. I have over 15 years experience as a singing teacher in schools and privately and over 35 years of experience as a performer myself. Please contact me here for more information.
In 2007, I completed a PGCE in Secondary Music at University of Greenwich. This course was twinned with Trinity College of Music where I completed a unit entitled Musicians in Education, which focussed on developing skills as peripatetic music teachers and music workshop leaders. Following this, I began my teaching career as a classroom music teacher in both primary and secondary schools, peripatetic singing, piano and clarinet teacher and music workshop leader. I was appointed Head of Music at Thomas Tallis school in Greenwich in 2011. In 2014, I became the music coordinator at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School in Westminster, London. There I taught classroom music from early years to Key Stage 2, led weekly singing assemblies, ran the school choir and led school shows and services, many of which I was lucky enough to hold in Westminster Cathedral. Having relocated to Wiltshire in 2022, I now offer a range of music teaching both to schools and privately.
Please note that I teach under my married name, Elizabeth Fairclough.
